The empowerment caravan concept is one that is both revolutionary and unique to ASILA. The caravan is designed to transform our woman completely in just one week, boosting their self-confidence, designing their vision, and creating powerful synergies amongst them. It is quite the adventure: taking women across Morocco to discover new possibilities, be inspired by women leaders, create unbreakable bonds, and unleash the power within them!

Traveling with the women is a magical experience. The trip gives them room to express themselves, share their experiences, rally around their challenges and speak confidentially with one another. The caravan quickly becomes a safe and comforting place where they can (and often for the first time) dare to dream! Throughout the caravan, our artisans meet with women who have overcome barriers to achieve their ambitions. Being exposed to the success of other women makes an immense impression on our participants, and often restores the women’s faith that they too can find success.

ASILA’s second strategy to boost economic empowerment amongst our entrepreneurs is to invest in capacity building. Through targeted workshops, trade shows, and trainings, ASILA pairs with local institutions and NGOs to boost our women’s business knowledge and technology literacy. Our tools and training programs focus on five key aspects of entrepreneurship: business and leadership skills, life skills, employability skills, technology and technical skills, and women’s rights education.
